Telephone Triage

We now offer telephone triage.  Triage just means deciding what, if any, treatment you need and which clinician you need to be seen by to get this treatment.  Offering telephone triage means that you will be able to speak to a clinician on the same day and either your problem dealt with over the phone, if appropriate, or an appointment offered if the clinician feels you need to be seen.  We hope this will work well and help improve access to appointments.

Prescriptions
You are only able to order your prescription over the phone between 2pm - 5pm.  You can however order online or by calling into the surgery at any time.  Please allow 2 working days before collection and make allowances for weekends and public holidays.

*New* Maternity App

Access to the app is via the web: https://www.pregnancyandbirthchoices.co.uk/, then select to download it to a device.

The app provides key information and advice which will help women to make informed choices about their birth from trusted NHS source, all in one place, and right at their fingertips.

There is a who’s who of healthcare professionals that mums-to-be will come into contact with before, and after their baby has been born, with a brief description of their role.

Mums and their partners will be able to compare facilities at hospitals across the region to find out which would best suit the type of birth they hope for. Whether it’s the closest maternity unit, or one that is more suitable for those who might have extra healthcare needs – the app helps women to plan where, and how they give birth.

The app contains key information for mums-to-be to think about, learn, and document using the notes section, as well as diary appointments.

Mums-to-be can access a visual and interactive guide on what to expect at certain stages through pregnancy. This guide also gives advice, for example what will happen during an ultrasound scan, to what foods you should avoid when pregnant, to what classes are available to help prepare for birth.

It informs women about what will happen after their baby is born, and tips how to look after them, from helping to develop a close bond, to feeding support, to what examinations will be carried out.

Help and advice for women who may feel a bit down, tearful or anxious after giving birth is also included in the postnatal visual pathway. About one in five women will experience some form of mental health problem, the app offers a wide range of support options available.
