Welcome to Auckland Medical Group
Auckland Medical Group is one of the largest general practices in County Durham practising from three branches based at Watling Road, St Helens and Toft Hill.
We are a teaching and training practice. We currently have in excess of 14,700 patients registered with 7 General Practitioners and 2 salaried GP (Dr Claire Rose-Innes and Dr Aidan Lavender). We have 4 nurse practitioners, 5 practice nurses and 5 nursing assistants.
This is an enthusiastic, motivated and patient orientated practice always striving to improve services for our patients.
We provide a wide range of general medical services including immunisation, sexual health services, physiotherapy and minor surgical services including cryotherapy, chiropody, smoking cessation, weight reduction, asthma, COPD, heart disease, diabetic, mental health and health checks. We are also a Yellow Fever Centre and our nurses can offer travel advice and vaccinations.
We also dispense to 20% of the practice population who live in rural location such as Hamsterley, Witton le Wear, Etherley and Toft Hill.

Disabled Access
All sites have been adapted to meet the needs of patients with disabilities. Please speak to the reception staff if you have any special requirements. Consulting rooms are all located on the ground floor with ramp access to all surgeries
Communication
We would like to get better at communicating with our patients. We want to make sure you can read and understand the information we send you. If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please let us know.
